CBD Infused Skincare

Let’s talk about CBD, baby.

Okay in all seriousness, CBD has become increasingly popular within the last 5 years or so, but what is it really?

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s a chemical compound from the cannabis sativa plant, which is also known as marijuana. It's a naturally occurring substance that's used in products like oils and edibles to promote feelings of relaxation, reducing anxiety and inflammation. Unlike its cousin, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive (meaning it doesn't make you feel high).

So is CBD skincare worth investing in?

Research suggests it’s worth looking into. CBD has many health benefits, but studies have proven effective when treating the following skin issues:

-Acne (reducing the production of sebum)

-Psoriasis

-Eczema

CBD is natural, so there is likely no harm to using CBD infused skincare products. If you happen to have a reaction from a CBD topical product, it's likely not from the CBD itself, but some other ingredient like a botanical.
